Old established neighbourhood

This residence is conveniently located steps from Ossington Ave. There seems to be a good mixture of floor plans available here; all with great high ceilings. Would have been nice to see some units here with balconies. The biggest downfall are the small windows and limited natural light for many of bedrooms in the floor plans here.

Established neighbourhood

Finding a hard loft within a old established neighbourhood like this in Toronto is a challenge. This area is stellar. The building has a great mix of units, ranging from smaller more affordable spaces to larger and more extravagant suites. I think the building fits the neighbourhood, and I mean that it practically defines it! Such a beautiful exterior in the Victorian tradition, but it's not for everyone; if you want absolute modern noise separation and wrap around windows this isn't it. I've helped a client find a great one bedroom that overlooks Little Portugal's turn of the century homes with an incredible view towards the city skyline.

Amazing residential area

(4.0 out of 5 stars)

Great location in an amazing residential area in Beaconsfield/West Queen West (steps from the best of Ossington). My opinion of the layouts is mixed - some are great with high ceilings and mezzanines, others have weird "bedrooms" in the middle of the room with no natural light. Like most hard lofts, there aren't any balconies, though the main floor and penthouse units have terraces (penthouses are amazing). Parking is in high-demand in the building and there have been issues with the status certificate in the past (so make any offer conditional on a lawyer reviewing it). The facade of the building is incredible (it was once a bakery) and it looks and feels like it belongs in a residential neighbourhood (even though it is 5 stories tall).

don't really like the unit interiors all that much

This is a fantastic adaptive reuse project that has won a number of well-deserved design awards. But from a consumer's perspective, I have to say that I don't really like the unit interiors all that much. With floor to ceiling windows now standard in so many condos, smaller punched windows can feel claustrophobic. On top of this, many of the bedrooms are recessed towards the back of the units, further restricting access to natural light. However, there are some great units along the ground floor. If I were to buy in here, it would have to be there.
