Regent Park
Looking for a larger unit
The area is going through a huge transition right now so you have to be tolerant of all the construction around you constantly but in the end it will be well worth it including the new 6 acre park they are currently constructing across the street. We have a streetcar stop right at our door step on Dundas and can walk south one block to the Queen line and over to Parliament to go north or south with the TTC so it is very convenient to get around using public transit. As for the people living in the building it seems to be a lot of people who are early in their careers, students and people who have downsized so you get a wide variety of people, most of whom are very friendly. The social committee is pretty active organizing different events every month and there is a networking group that is getting bigger and bigger every month.
The only down side to the building has been some of the managements decisions regarding the use of the BBQ's, party room and terrace. As a result of a couple of bad experiences they are trying to enforce a no alcohol policy for these areas which is beyond ridiculous and in my mind not enforceable. They have also imposed stricter rules for the party room including the use of paid security for larger groups which is too heavy handed. In my view the board needs to take more control and not allow the building manager to impose such strict rules. Beyond that they building is great. Construction quality is at par with higher end buildings and like most buildings these days we experience the typical problems with elevators from time to time. If you are in the market for a resale condo or want to rent in this area, this building should be on the top of your list.
