12 Yonge

...The Board of directors are like dictators and management is useless. The amenities haven’t fully started since covid. Booking a gym is a hassle and you only get a couple of bookings a week. The heating switch is so late in the winters that you spend at least a couple of weeks in cold weather without heating in the apartment. Elevators don’t work properly and the limit is only 3 people and there is always a wait. Since covid, this building’s management and amenities have deteriorated drastically and they have no sympathy for the residents. All the complaints are unheard...

Pretty Good So Far

(4.0 out of 5 stars)
by Lina Mar 28, 2020
...Not really sure where all the negative reviews are coming from, but we moved in a few months ago and everything has been good so far. Our unit is far bigger than many of the other buildings we looked at. In terms of noise, we haven’t heard anything from neighbours on either side or above and below. Not sure if we just got lucky with our neighbours or if the walls are indeed thick. One downside is that the noise from the gardener can be a bit loud if the windows are open. We haven’t experienced any issues related to the unit itself. Elevators are standard like in every building. They can take a while to come if an elevator is out of service or book. In general, they come fast enough. In terms of amenities, we’re really disappointed with the gym but other than that, they’re good. The concierge desk is helpful, the location is amazing, and the building isn’t very party. You can tell lots of families live in this condo so we’re happy about that given the reputation of some of the other condos in the area...

Poor management

(2.0 out of 5 stars)
by Reviewer99 May 20, 2019
...Resident here for about 4 years. Can't wait to finally move out this summer. There are endless issues with the elevators. One of the four was down for a whole month. Then a week after 2 were down for about a week. Air condition. Biggest issue. It is now May 20, no air condition yet. They haven't notified the residents as to when it will be turned on. With looming 25 and 26 degree weather coming up- the a/c definitely won't be turned on in time. Materials are cheap. Floorboards feel like cardboard, cabinets falling apart...cheap cheap cheap materials...

Built from cardboard

(1.3 out of 5 stars)

...The location is about the only thing going for this monstrosity of a building. The building is very poorly built. Pipes are frequently bursting, causing not only structural damage to affect units, but also elevators. For the past 2 months, 2 of the 5 elevators have been down, and in the last month, 3 of the 5 are out of service--and there's no end in sight to this problem. There are constantly lines out the door of people waiting. Even when all 5 elevators were in operation, you may have to wait for five minutes for an elevator to get to the garage. The parking garage is likewise terrible. It's a labyrinth with no signage. Good luck finding your spot and the exit. It takes ages to get your car, if you have a spot on the 5th basement floor...

Great south facing

(5.0 out of 5 stars)
by Anne Marie Lorusso Sep 25, 2017
I'm a Realtor and just helped a client lease a great south facing furnished suite in this building for a surprisingly reasonable rent. She loves it in this building. From the great location, sleek lobby, amazing amenities including indoor pool, hot tubs, exercise room, plus rare downtown (and maintained) tennis and squash courts, a sundeck plus party and media rooms. Take the elevator downstairs to the restaurant on the main level or hop across the street for other necessities like Second Cup and Tim Horton's - both 1 block away. This is a great spot to start if you are new to Toronto and don't know where you 'should' live.
