Great location - central to the Financial District And St Lawrence Market. All units here have floor to ceiling windows. I will have North exposure and smooth ceilings. Steps to King St Subway (Yonge Line). The building features an amazing outdoor rooftop pool and a state of the art amenities.

not so keen on it

I live in the St. Lawrence Market and have a couple properties in it. So I'm always looking at another investment opportunity. After some further research, I'm not so keen on this development taking place. I found the layouts to be awkward and not overly functional - especially at the sqr footage price and the maintenance fees. I think it is quite overpriced and decided against investing in this building and did so in another one. Every historic area does need a little bit of modernity injected into, but I think this design deviates a little too much. Concert hit the mark perfectly with Berczy building - a perfect mix of new and classic - which is what the Market is all about. This one will be a bit of an eyesore for this intersection. Would look great in another area of the city though.

architectural standpoint,

While I can't really comment on specific pricing, I will say that, from an architectural standpoint, I'm looking forward to this building. The building is decidedly modern, which is something the St. Lawrence Market could use more of. At the same time, the orange base gives the building a contextual quality - it references the use of brick in the area, but in a playful way. The arches along the ground floor are also a nice touch. If you look at the condo building directly to the south on Church St (Gooderham Court), you'll see where the (likely) inspiration came from for the large arch at the base. There's also going to be about 10,000 sf of retail at the base. From the renderings, it's hard to make out how interesting the tower portion of the project will be, but architectsAlliance usually do a pretty good job, so I'm not worried. All in all, I'd give this project (at this pre-construction stage), 4 1/2 stars out of 5.
