Great location and management

(4.3 out of 5 stars)
by L Tower resident Jan 26, 2022
Have been living here since 2015 and it has made enjoying Downtown (pre-pandemic) a real treat. With everything in walking distance including arenas and places to eat it makes life a little easier when you just want to do something outside the home. It is also easy to get to with TTC or car and has visitors parking. The management has done a good job to maintain the building and does not allow short-term rentals, which is great for most people but seems to encourage negative reviews from people who want to do that. Great place to live with amazing views.

Love living here

(5.0 out of 5 stars)
by Rory B Aug 12, 2021
I've lived at the L Tower for a few years now and love it. The location can't be beaten (convenience to Union Station, Eaton Centre, subway, proximity to St. Lawrence Market). The units are very well laid out and the higher floors have unbeatable lake views. I haven't had any issues with the elevators, fire alarms, or management. The security staff are friendly enough. You can't get food delivered up to your apartment with Covid-19. Overall, great spot.

THE MOST USELESS MANAGEMENT

(1.0 out of 5 stars)
by Current L tower resident Apr 29, 2021
I moved into this building in August of this past year and my experience has been nothing but hell with the rude and unprofessional concierge and careless and almost nonexistent management. First of all, during the pandemic, they stopped letting deliveries come up. They “think” it’s safer to drag 500 units to the lobby and make them face the delivery person and have groceries exposed in the lobby, while I as someone who lives alone have to make multiple trips with people in the elevator to take my groceries up. TELL ME HOW is Covid safe to meet triple the number of people in the corridors for deliveries? SECOND ISSUE: that is very tied to that ridiculous rule; I had recently tested positive for Covid and had been in isolation and pretty sick. By law the security is supposed to bring your deliveries up to you. 6 days out of my 10-day quarantine I WAS TRYING TO GET A HOLD OF MANAGEMENT just to tell them I have Covid and need my food delivered to me. But these people would just not care to pick up the phone. And on the 6th day the concierge finally picks up the phone to say:” YoU arE suPpOsEd To tElL tHe ManAgeMenT YoU arE iN iSoLAtiOn” yet gives me no contact info and attempts 2 out of the 5 deliveries I had 2 and 6 hours late. Imagine bringing your coffee to you 6 hours late without a simple apology. WHILE YOU HAVE COVID How am I supposed to know that when I’m calling every day and you’re not answering that I’m supposed to inform the management that's almost never even available in the first place. It’s my last day of isolation and I have deliveries from 3 days ago sitting at their desk cause their staff simply doesn’t care. These people are the main reason why this pandemic never ends because I wonder how many sick people had to leave their units because this building's management simply doesn’t do their job IN OTHER WORDS, don’t fall for the fancy look of this building. The staff are a bunch of rude and miserable people that will make your daily life painful.

Absolute GARBAGE Condo

(1.0 out of 5 stars)
by Reviewer Feb 18, 2021
This condo building is absolute garbage. The management team is completely useless, a fire alarm goes off on a weekly basis, the security staff is the most unpleasant and hostile group of individuals I've ever encountered, the elevators are constantly out of commission, the elevator buttons barely work. Stay far away from here. I've lived at various condos in my past but I must say none of the buildings come NEARLY as bad as this one.

Avoid

(1.7 out of 5 stars)
by TakingTheL Feb 07, 2021
We rented a unit at the L Tower for 3 years. Starting with the positives: the building is in a very convenient location for access to downtown, the view was very impressive, and units come with large closets for storage. Now for the negatives. Things constantly break, ranging from unusable elevators to flooding of the amenities - the gym/pool were out of commission for more than half a year and my partner was once trapped in the elevator for half an hour. There were periods where the fire alarms would go off constantly. Building management is beyond useless and takes ages to fix anything. The only thing management spends money on is needless renovations of the lobby. The building is very noisy, both from its proximity to Union Station trains as well as poor construction (whistling from air venting through the front door). Some of the building staff are friendly while others seem miserable and will actively insult you to your face. Almost all communications from the building (newsletters, announcements, etc.) consist of complaints about residents smoking on balconies, jumping in elevators, or running AirBnBs. I can't think of a single one containing a positive sentiment. Overall, if all your care about is the location you'll be fine, but otherwise, avoid at all costs.

Incompetent management

(1.7 out of 5 stars)
by Claudia_A Jan 21, 2021
We signed a lease a few weeks ago and have been trying to get in touch with management ever since about booking the moving elevator. We called literally 10+ times and no one picked up the phone (neither management nor concierge). We were only able to get through two entire weeks after we initially started contacting them and of course, given the short notice, there was no elevator availability leaving us to have to move at an extremely inconvenient time for which I now have to take time off work for. Despite us being proactive, it was to no avail given the blatant unresponsiveness and incompetence of building management. Extremely disappointed with the service

Awful management

(1.0 out of 5 stars)
by Unhappy tenants Jan 12, 2021
We lived here for almost 2 years cannot wait to move out. Our balcony door has been broken for 5 months, still not fixed by management all lies about the fix. We also lose heat often, fire alarms weekly. The pool room TV has been broken since the day we moved in. Staff are nice and front desk, people in the office not too much. I would avoid this place at all costs plus all the construction on Yonge St is going to be bad for the next 2 years.

Awesome architecture

(4.0 out of 5 stars)
by Brook Wilson Feb 14, 2017
This is one of my favourite towers in the city. It's a shame the cultural facility planned for the base of the tower didn't make it though.

Still, this one is really impacting the skyline. We need to see more developers experimenting with form like this.

I'd love to see one of the units near the top where the glass is really curved. You'd get tons of light.

EXTREMELY noisy

(1.0 out of 5 stars)
by Anonymous Feb 05, 2017
Stay away. Management that will happily disable your keyfob without notice for the silliest reasons, a drab and boring lobby, security that is non-existent, expensive, EXTREMELY noisy because of the buses and trains constantly running at Union and finally, expensive. Do yourself a favor and stay away.

SOLID

(5.0 out of 5 stars)
by Jason Jaguar Feb 04, 2017
Solid condo, built to last with concrete walls, turntable for trucks in moving room, and the best safety glass windows, engineered similar to an automobile windshield to prevent falling glass from the tower.

Miele appliances throughout, including front loading washer and dryer. Fresh air ventilation in each suite.

Location Location Location, just off Front and Yonge Streets in downtown Toronto, close to absolutely everything you could possibly need. No need to use public transportation or a car, unless you're heading out of town for a weekend. Walk over to Jack Layton Ferry docs and take a trip to the islands on the weekend or stroll down the revitalized Queens Quay. Steps to the center of the financial district and all the shopping and restaurants and entertainment that anyone could ever want.

Solid engineered hardwood floors throughout. Spacious walk-in closets in many units. 9 or 10' ceilings throughout.

When complete, the building and the lobby is going to be timeless. It will never look outdated. A lasting icon in downtown Toronto.
