a wonderful building

(5.0 out of 5 stars)

I have been living in this building since it was first built (2009) and it's a wonderful building. Although it's located on a quiet street (Oxley St.), the building is near the King & Spadina intersection, right by the Entertainment District, Theater District, Fashion District and steps away from St. Andrew subway station. The building only has 15 floors. There also is no swimming pool or gym. Therefore, maintenance fees are quite low (about $0.53 per square foot). However, the lobby does have a concierge from the hours of 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM. The building is extremely well maintained - hallway carpets are vacuumed daily, building windows are professionally cleaned twice a year, the lobby walls are hand cleaned every day.

Most of the building's residents are young professionals working in downtown Toronto. My neighbours work in banking, advertising, television production and other fields. There is also a small cohort of older "empty nesters".

All in all, just a great place to live!

All loft units

(4.0 out of 5 stars)

Very nice building, all loft units. Each is well laid out and have great fixtures and appliances. No amenities except concierge. many views are blocked by taller buildings around it and the back ally can be a bit shady.

If you look past this the building is great to live in.

Right in the middle

Glas residents have the best of both worlds - they're right in the middle of it all at King/Spadina, but off the main drag on a quiet street. Finishes are typical of the builder- modern and clean - think stainless, granite and concrete. Amenities are pretty much non-existent (which has been good for condo fees so far).

The new condos at 8 Charlotte have killed the views for a lot of the units, and I'll be honest, 25 Oxley and 8 Charlotte are about as close in proximity as you can get. Units not directly facing into the other condos are a better buy (I speak the obvious).

There are some great starter units here and you can find great layouts even at 500 sqft.
