Stay away at all costs

Wow! I moved back to Toronto after a few years away and was super excited to move into my south-facing, sun-filled, CN view unit with a large balcony. Everything started befalling apart fairly quickly, it is clear that the last resident tried to glue things before leaving. The quality of the finishes is poor. There are three elevators in theory but only one works (the other elevator is broken and another one is used by Lavelle as their second elevator). Average 5-9 people for the ride even though there is a pandemic. What a joke. Did I mention the noise? I’m on the 11th floor and rarely enjoy my balcony. Construction work, honking, parties, Lavelle. Fire alarms in the middle of the night all the time (or during your zoom meetings). Loud parties, used condoms, vomit, broken bottles, dog urine everywhere. Stay away. Sadly, these issues are common across other Toronto properties not just there. Moving out in a month. Can’t wait! I would never “invest” in a condo in downtown Toronto.

Great units, premium prices

(4.0 out of 5 stars)

The Thompson is full of cool, beautiful people. Layouts and finishes are great but they come with a corresponding price. Units at the Thompson come with premium prices. The Thompson condos are solidly built. Amenities are spectacular (shared with the hotel but there is a private gym), and living at the Thompson means you get access to the coveted rooftop bar and pool with some of the best views of the city.

No soundproofing

(1.0 out of 5 stars)
by Tim Hester Jan 12, 2017
No soundproofing in the walls. If my neighbor is hanging out in his kitchen and I'm lying in bed, I can hear everything - laughs, doors opening, and closing, music. When he opens or closed the front door I'm woken up every time. The design and finishes of the condo are great, the concierges are amazing, and the amenities are great, but the poor construction is why I'm moving out.
