A great condo

(2.3 out of 5 stars)

I have been renting here for 5 years. This condo is definitely well managed but it is ageing (old elevators are a problem). The units are large (they were built before everything was micro-sized). Utilities are included, but you do not get to choose when they switch between heating and cooling. Agree with the last poster, large windows but not a lot of light due to the downtown location. You will also need to deal with downtown noise (horns, people screaming from the bar late at night below, and homeless/mentally ill that hang out in front of the building). If this doesn't both you, then you will benefit from the great convenient location near the subway. Amenities are severely lacking, but this is not a big deal if you don't care about lots of BBQs, outdoor space, pool gym etc. View from the roof is nice. Because the building is solid concrete, the cell service is bad. Most people don't think about this, but you can only make cellphone calls near the window. I personally don't mind but others might. Overall, well-managed condo with roomy units at a convenient downtown location.

Extremely well managed!

Been living here for 7 years. Overall this condo is extremely well managed and we have enjoyed living here. The condo itself is mostly owners rather than renters. A good mix of people from young professionals to couples with kids, to elderly people. Most units do not have a balcony and a lot of them look onto other buildings, so don't expect much sunlight - it is the downtown core though. One step outside the building and you are straight into the PATH system and the King subway. Facility-wise, there is an indoor pool, a small gym, steam rooms, a party room on the 5th floor and a rooftop terrace (residents only). There is also 24hr security. The gym is rarely packed and the pool mostly unused. Barbecues are not permitted - given the location in the core. The lack of light issue/personal outdoor space is a reason I wouldn't buy here, but the location cannot be beaten. The units are around 15 yrs old now and may need updating if this has not been done.
